What is this?
This is a very beneficial event for any character between the levels of 18-26. It was active during the month of December of 2025, and may be active again in the future.
The primary reasons to engage in this event include:
- Incredible XP (3.5m a kill)
- Incredible Weapons for skilling up can be farmed that have all of the following properties: .5 speed, silver, glowing, returning, ~150-175 damage at mythic
- Spell damage/crit mage gloves
- Tons of gold (millions if not billions)
- Decent source of DPs and PMPs, as well as Super Icies and D/S braclets
Where is it?
You can access the Mu Christmas event by going to Bloodlands, head to the Elemental Temple, find Elixia, and type "e, mu". Once you are in Mu, head straight east until you find a portal, and walk into it.
General Instructions for Event
Upon entering, you will find that nothing in this zone can be damaged. You have 2 options.
- Loot a Candy Cane from an Elf someone with Candy Canes has killed in the southern or eastern parts of zone.
- Kill Sugarcutters or Nutcrackers in northern part of zone to get a basic candy cane to start killing elves. Sugarcutters and Nutcrackers are a good source of farming blanks of each weapon type, including thieving. Blanks are used to combine with Candy Canes (all qualities except the yellow ones) to make a candy cane of random quality with the skill of the blank weapon you combine with, including lockpicks.
Once you have a cane, immediately head to the southern part of the zone and start bonking elves. They drop rocks worth 4mil gold, they give 3.5 mil xp, and they also drop candy canes up to mythic quality. Candy Canes by default are DAGGER skill. See the section below on farming Candy Canes for how to change this to a different weapon skill.
It's helpful to make a macro of "throw candycane at @[hostile]" if you are not strong enough to tank elves (They hit through 2400 DR very often for 20-30 a hit). Note... Candy canes only attack faster when used as a melee weapon, not when thrown.
Note that Elves have VERY forgiving AI. They only aggro within 1 tile, it's like they are blind. They do jumpkick though so be aware.
Farming Gifts
Elves can drop gifts of different rarities. Higher rarity is a higher chance at gloves and higher rarity gloves. Gifts can drop the following things:
- DP
- PMP
- D/S Bracelet
- Super Icies
- Stam Pot
- Blindness Cure Pot
- Caster Gloves
- Gems worth 100k
- Pearl worth 700k
- Blood Gems worth 1mil
- Prismatic Bars worth 2mil
- Gold chunks worth 4mil
- Heartgems (worth 100k or can be used in BB for 200k xp via gift)
To open the gift, put it in one of your hands and double click it. The loot will fall onto the ground. Be aware that Gloves will bind on pickup.
Farming Candy Canes
The other reason to farm here, aside from gifts, gold, and xp, are the candy canes themselves. They are incredibly good weapons for skilling up weapons and they are pretty powerful weapons for their level range in raw damage, but they give almost no DR so be aware they are atrocious defensive weapons.
In order to change the weapon type of a candy cane from DAGGER to something else, you need to find Swapanta by going to the Fountain in the center of the zone and going "down". If you drop a non-common candy cane and ANY weapon, and do "s, craft present", he will give you a new candy cane OF RANDOM QUALITY THAT IS NOT INFLUENCED BY THE QUALITY OF EITHER PIECE of that weapon type.
This is a great way to level up staffs, greatswords, hand, mace, etc. Candy canes are ACCOUNT bound, and will re-bind when you craft them with other weapons. Common quality is good for doing low dmg to not kill things too fast and skill up safely. Mythic quality is way stronger and might be harder to skill with if you kill things too fast, but they have a higher skill multiplier. ( From Cainiac - I suggest getting a Common (yellow) candy cane for each weapon skill, including thieving, 13 total, to share between your characters to skill any weapon, with any character you want, at your convenience. I have also taken time to get at least Artifact or Mythic of each weapon for the extra speed and skill multiplier)
A good strategy is to use red recalls to teleport between HoL (or Kesh) and Swapanta. A lot of weapons you can only carry 3 at once. You can re-use uncommon candy canes and up as well. I like to jump down into lower leng for a lot of weapon types. Axe has a lot of trolls for easy access to greatswords. For MA's, you will want to kill nutcracker mobs for 3staff blanks.
