WIP - I have a replay of an optimal farm route for UW. I need to sit down and make an annotated map for it with direction.
It's a good idea to stock up on group recall rings if this run is being done with lower level characters in the party as they can die very quickly moving from fight to fight. This route is meant to be following consecutively, so each point will be starting at the location of the previous point. This isn't the only way to do things, this is just meant to help be a guide/record of a route hitting all the targets in UW.

* First, you will want to get your group into the UW. This can be done via a number of ways:
** If you have enough souls on your Bloodring (exact number needed, its like 300+), you can teleport directly into the temple.
*** If at least 1 person can do this, you can use Thief group recall rings to pull everyone else in
** Otherwise, you will need to access the entrance by sprinting through PoD, which will likely result in anyone with low MR dying to all the death spam. Again, a single high level person can make this run and use Group Recalls.
* Once in the main temple, '''altered.Ra''' can be immediately engaged by going up the steps to the Northwest. Upon killing, head back down the steps.
* '''altered.Nefertum''' is directly to the east, following the path south of the blood river.
* '''altered.Thoth''' is directly to the west, circling under the temple and behind it.
* '''altered.Thutmose''' is directly to the north and slightly west, up a blood water way then circling slightly east to a small building with no door.
* Loop back around to the south and follow the blood river northeast path some Denizens to find '''altered.Nepherteri.'''
* Directly south is '''altered.Tiy,''' with '''altered.Cleo''' in the room directly south. They are located next to each other but are seperate encounters.
* After killing Cleo, if head south and then east after clearing the building and go past the secret door to the tomb, there will be a small set of sky hexes to the north that a path seems to lead to.
** Set a recall before jumping down into the hex as you will be coming right back up after killing the next target
* Jump down and head a few hexes north to encounter '''altered.Re.Harkanti,''' then recall back up.
* Head further east to encounter '''altered.Neith'''
* '''altered.Sobek''' is directly south. Take caution with this boss as you can get quickly overwhelmed without Ice Spear.
* Directly east is a rope, take it down and head southeast to '''altered.Ptah'''
* Head back to the rope and then head north to '''altered.Imhotep ('''Where Kheumeri used to be on the map)
* Then head east to '''altered.Khnumeri ('''where Set used to be on the map)
* Done! Facet and do a 2nd lap

Here is a visual guide with arrows if you like arrows. Blue lines signify stairs or recalls or teleports, etc.

Difficulty and Pre-Reading

The difficulty of the Underworld is very disconnected from the difficulty of the rest of Bloodlands. Every single mob in this zone is multiple tiers above the hardest boss of Bloodlands, and the Bosses are multiple tiers even above that. The entrance to this zone requires either having a Blood Ring with ~400 souls and using the portal in the Elemental Temple or going through the Plane of Dead and taking the exit in the Southwest (This will require someone who can tank a plethora of deaths as the zone is famously known for).

To successfully handle this area:

  • You will want 500~ HP, give or take
  • You will need to bring a Blood Weapon to do anything meaningful here, or Ice Spear or Death
    • Bee Staff is capable of tanking most things here
  • Every enemy here hits for 200-300, and many of them inflict crazy amounts of poison. HP ranges in the tens of thousands.

If you are not deep into the game, or have a very veteran player with you, entering this zone is a death sentence.

The main reason this zone exists is to farm souls for the Bloodring, however many mobs and bosses can drop Blood Vials and Bones here of various qualities. The XP here matches the challenge, with most mobs giving millions of xp and bosses giving tens of millions spread out over a group. UW souls are capable of taking the Bloodring beyond 600 souls.

Enemies

  • Denizen of Death packs
    • Spams Death, melees for 150~
  • Sandwyrm
    • Hits multiple times a round for 50-150~. Each hit can apply a stacking poison
    • Grants 1 soul
  • ghast
    • Grants 1 soul

Boss List

All bosses listed below can be found on the traditional LoK UW map in the same locations (which is why the old map is shown here). You will either need Blood Weapons or Ice Spear or Death to deal damage.

    • Poisons on hit

There are more bosses, likely in the same spots. This just mainly lists Ra and a lot of the surface bosses. Someone else with more experience can feel free to add more info.

Routing

It's a good idea to stock up on group recall rings if this run is being done with lower level characters in the party as they can die very quickly moving from fight to fight. This route is meant to be following consecutively, so each point will be starting at the location of the previous point. This isn't the only way to do things, this is just meant to help be a guide/record of a route hitting all the targets in UW.

    • Otherwise, you will need to access the entrance by sprinting through PoD, which will likely result in anyone with low MR dying to all the death spam. Again, a single high level person can make this run and use Group Recalls.
  • Once in the main temple, altered.Ra can be immediately engaged by going up the steps to the Northwest. Upon killing, head back down the steps.
  • altered.Nefertum is directly to the east, following the path south of the blood river.
  • altered.Thoth is directly to the west, circling under the temple and behind it.
  • altered.Thutmose is directly to the north and slightly west, up a blood water way then circling slightly east to a small building with no door.

  • After killing Cleo, if head south and then east after clearing the building and go past the secret door to the tomb, there will be a small set of sky hexes to the north that a path seems to lead to.
    • Set a recall before jumping down into the hex as you will be coming right back up after killing the next target
  • Jump down and head a few hexes north to encounter altered.Re.Harkanti, then recall back up.
  • Head further east to encounter altered.Neith
  • altered.Sobek is directly south. Take caution with this boss as you can get quickly overwhelmed without Ice Spear.

  • Done! Facet and do a 2nd lap
